Who we are

What we collect
Photographs you upload
The photograph you upload to create artwork. This is the most sensitive information we handle, so it is covered separately below.
Order and contact information
Your name, email address, delivery address, phone number where given, and the contents of your order. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment provider and never reach our servers.
Technical information
Your IP address, browser type and pages visited. We use this to keep the site secure, prevent abuse of our free artwork previews, and understand how the site is used.
How we handle your photographs
This is the part most people want to know about, so we will be specific.
- Location data is removed. Photos taken on a phone usually contain the GPS coordinates of where they were taken. Your photo is stripped of this and all other embedded metadata in your browser, before it is ever sent to us.
- It is used only to create your artwork. Your photo is sent to our artwork provider, Google, purely to generate your designs. It is not used to identify you, and we do not use it to train any system of our own.
- It is stored privately. Uploaded photos are stored outside the public area of our website and are not browsable or linkable by anyone else.
- It is deleted automatically. Photos not attached to an order are deleted after 90 days. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.
- We never sell it. We do not sell, rent or share your photographs with anyone beyond the providers listed below who are needed to fulfil your order.
Who we share information with
- Google (Gemini API) — receives your photograph to generate your artwork.
- Printful — receives your chosen artwork and delivery address to print and ship your order.
Each provider handles your information under its own privacy policy and only for the purpose described. We do not share your information with anyone else, and we never sell it.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on: performance of a contract for information needed to fulfil your order; legitimate interests for security and abuse prevention; consent for marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time; and legal obligation for records we must keep for tax and accounting.
You confirm at upload that you have the right to use the photograph you provide, including the permission of anyone identifiable in it.
How long we keep things
- Uploaded photographs not attached to an order — 90 days.
- Artwork and photographs attached to a completed order — kept while needed to support your order and any reprint or claim.
- Order and invoice records — as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically [6 or 7] years.
- Marketing contacts — until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent. Residents of California may also ask what personal information we have disclosed, and opt out of any sale of personal information — we do not sell personal information.
To exercise any of these, email info@toonedupgifts.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work — keeping your basket, remembering your artwork session, and keeping you signed in. We also use google analytics to understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser, though parts of the site may stop working.
Children
Our store is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. For anything at all relating to your privacy, write to us at info@toonedupgifts.com and a person will reply.
